Betty Tack’s Famous Bacon Wrapped Water Chestnuts

¼ cup oil
¼ cup soya sauce
2 tbsp. ketchup or 2 tbsp. barbeque sauce.
1 tbsp. vinegar
1 tbsp. garlic powder
2 cans whole water chestnuts drained
1 lb. bacon cut in half slices

Mix all ingredients except chestnuts and bacon.

Add chestnuts to sauce and marinate overnight.

Wrap each chestnut in half slice of bacon and secure with toothpick. Sprinkle with your favourite spices.

Broil at 500 for 8-10 minutes or until bacon is done. Serve hot!
You can also cool and put in plastic containers to freeze for later use.
